Al-Wahaab – The Giver

The house of God is as royal
as the highest throne of the world
and as ordinary, as a shop on your street-
You visit it only when you need something.
You stand in-front of the Keeper,
while the helpers (farishtas) wait on standby.
Thereโ€™s a queue outside this shop,
and we all await our turn,
our eyes, full of hopeful light,
our hearts, full of burn.
Thereโ€™s so much to unlearn in this,
and thereโ€™s so much more to learn!
The surrounding commotion, perhaps,
affects our devotion,
disrupt our connection.
The Keeper is all ears to you,
but you are too restless,
so you leave before He addresses you,
and call the scene a mess.
You leave the shop, you leave the street,
and in ignorance you roam.
Unaware, that the Keeper has
already sent your โ€˜๐™–๐™Ÿ๐™–๐™ง’ home.
